पाठ का सारांश
बिफोर यू रीड- हम सभी सपने में देखते हैं। विविध प्रकार की
वस्तुएँ, विविध प्रकार की जमीन और संसार जो हमारे सचमुच के संसार
से अलग होते हैं। इस कविता में कवि ऐसे संसार का सपना देखता है जहाँ
सब जगह प्रेम और शांति है, सभी लोगों में एक-दूसरे के प्रति समानता
का भाव है।
I dream........................
मैं ऐसे संसार का सपना देखता हूँ, जहाँ कोई आदमी किसी से घृणा
नहीं करेगा, जहाँ पृथ्वी पर प्रेम का भाव भरा रहेगा, रास्ते पर शांति
दिखेगी।
I dream.........................
मैं ऐसे संसार का सपना देखता हूँ जहाँ सभी, सुखद आजादी के तरीके
जानेंगे, जहाँ लोग किसी के चरित्र को नहीं गिरायेंगे, आत्यधिक लोग हमारे
दिल को खराब नहीं करेंगे।

एक ऐसे संसार का मैं सपना देखता हूँ जहाँ काले या गोरे, जिस
भी नस्ल के आप हों, प्रकृति प्रदत्त उपहारों का बँटवारा करेंगे और सभी
आदमी आजाद होंगे।

जहाँ दुःख का अन्त होगा और आनन्द मोती के दानों सा चमकेगा,
सम्पूर्ण मानव समाज की आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति होगी, ऐसे संसार का
मैं सपना देखता हूँ।
कवि को जानें―लंगस्टन हगेस एक अफ्रीकी हैं जिनका जन्म
अमरीका में हुआ । उनका विश्वास है कि सभी जातियाँ बराबर हैं और
सम्मान की बराबर की अधिकारी हैं।

करना । Adorn (एडॉर्न)- सजाना । Saps the soul (सेप्स दी सोल)―
चरित्र को कमजोर करना । Avarice (एवारिस)― सम्पत्ति का अतिशय
लोभ । Blights (ब्लाइट्स)― हानि करता है। Race (रेस)― नस्ल,
जाति । Bounties (बॉन्टीज)― पुरस्कार, उपहार । Wretchedness
(रेचेडनेस)― दुःख, विषाद ।

I. 'A world I dream where black or white
Whatever race you be
Will share the bounties of the earth
And every man is free.'
